SCHOOL OPENS NEW PLAYGROUNDLiberton Christian School has recently opened a new playground at the school in Hillary St, Pine Hill. Mr Tony Sizemore from the school’s board of trustees said that the $20,000 playground was part of the capital works associated with the school’s recent integration into the state system. While the school retains its special character as a Christian school, integration has meant the need to carry out a number of projects to improve the physical environment of the school. Mr Sizemore emphasised that the community is welcome to use the playground after hours, especially as the area immediately surrounding the school has no other play facilities. Liberton Christian School has been in operation for approximately 20 years. Approximately 40 pupils attend the school with the senior class being almost full but there are places still available in the junior class. Star Weekender, July 16, 2000 Back to Main Page |
